The medical Device Alert MDA/2004/026 requires the replacement of blue
litmus paper with pH indicator strips for checking nasogastric tube
replacement. MHRA also require that a definition of ".........expected pH
ranges for secretions to be tested such as gastric and bronchial
secretions, giving consideration to variables such as the use of antacids
and proton pump inhibitors".
Have any list members got referenced data on this?
