This relates to something discussed previously which I would like to air
again with apologies to non-UK susbscribers.
We all have policies such as the above which are of pan-laboratory
relevance.
Would it not be sensible for an eminent body such as the ACB or RCPath to
collate COSSH and SOP data for such and similar items as well as for
commonly used instruments. It seems an incredible waste of highly trained
professional time reproducing such documentation in labs across the country
for accrediation purposes.
There could be another category for 'Clinical information/relevance' of the
tests which again we all have to have included in our SOPs
Is there anyone out there willing to co-ordinate or negotiate with a major
manufacturer for sponsorship?
It could even be a function for the Corporate members of the ACB because
they all have to produce similar documentation for us all
with best wishes

Subject: Commonality of Policies - started as : Release of specimens to
the police
I'm overwhelmed by your generosity. I received the first policy in 6
minutes and many more since.
I think the range of these probably covers all the main points, so if
you haven't sent me one already please don't bother.
Many people commented on how helpful Martin Myers' work had been.
Do we need a more structured approach to collaboration on policies?
