Although not showing the same degree of change Chan et al (Clin Endocrinol. 1978;9:337-349) did demonstrate in six subjects, that TSH has a circadian rhythm, with levels being approximately 60% higher than an individual's mean value at midnight and some 30 - 40 % lower at 4.00pm. An individual's TSH was at its mean value around 8.00am and 8.00pm. Is part of the explanation related to time of sampling?
