A quick trawl through my statstics books suggests it depends on whether you
are American or English. Americans tend to use chi square, English use chi
squared. They are the same test. Strictly speaking, the way the symbols
are written, it should be pronounced chi squared. I have the same problem
with "box sets" for CDs or anything else sold in boxes where it should be
"boxed sets".

Martin.

Subject: Chi-square or chi-squared
A colleague in Spain has asked me, do we use the
chi-square test or chi-squared test in the UK. I
always assumed and used the term,chi-squared, but on
trying Google to ascertain this, I had around 145,000
hits for "chi-square" and only 46,000 or so for
"chi-squared". Are they the same term or different?
