An Open Question for UK Clinical Scientists
Our trust is making great efforts to get on with agenda for change. To the
extent that all staff will be sent a copy of their job description to see if
it is an accurate description of what they do. The employee will be required
to acknowledge this description as correct and to sign it off accordingly.
This will then be used in the job matching process (early December for us)
to assign that person to the new pay band. What are fellow clinical
scientists doing in terms of their job descriptions in the context of the
excellent advice provided by our Federation ??
There are some specimen job descriptions available from early implementer
sites at
http://www.acb.org.uk/federation/PDF/FCS%20AfC%20Guidance%20-%20Job%20Descri
ptions.pdf
Are fellow Clinical Scientists using these??
There seems a lot of activity going on in terms of AFC but suspiciously
little discussion on this forum. Your thoughts would be most welcome.

John O'Connor
