Hi Hanna:
Another reference for you might be the paper that I presented at The Good,
The Bad and the Irrelevant: User Aspects of ICT's, Helsinki, Finland in the
fall of 2003:
http://goodbad.uiah.fi/info/files/public/P109/P109.doc
The paper is in black-and-white; if you want it in colour, just let me
know...I have done exhibition design as it relates to temporary exhibitions,
and my interest is in the human experience and the inter-relationships with
products, users, technology, spaces and the social and temporal nature of
these types of exhibitions. The Larry Klein is a reference that I would
recommend as well, as a point of departure.

Subject: Designers perspective
Dear Rosan,
there is quite a lot of work done in eg museum studies on evaluating
the educational or interpretive role of exhibitions. There is also
work on visitors experience. However, as far as I have been able to
find out, little is done in actually defining the visual and spacial
context of the experience and how the design influence the visitors
perception of the exhibition theme.
Was that an answer?
I am at the moment trying to find out how, and if, it is possible to
single out, describe and analyse the design of the exhibition
experience.
Thank you for the question, it made me focus on a friday afternoon!
Kind regards,
Hanna
