Byron, Shakespeare, Dickens and the Bible. Why were 19th Century artists as
diverse as Mulraedy, Degas, Frith, Delacroix and Beardsley inspired by
literary themes? Explore the sources behind some of the V&A’s best loved
works of art. Speakers include Mark Evans, Senior Paintings Curator V&A, Dr
Kathleen Adler, Head of Education, The National Gallery, Desmond Shawe-
Taylor, Director, Dulwich Picture Gallery and Florian Schweizer, Curator
at The Charles Dickens Museum.
