Dear all,
We had a patient with eliostomy today, he comes in for
OGTT, our assistant started the procedure, and with 30
minutes draw, the patient mentioned that he noticed
the yellow fluid (orange flavouring D-glucose drink
for the OGTT) start coming to the bag shortly after 15
minutes (The patient may have an empty stomach).
We were half way through when they informed me, I
decided to continue,
his results were as follow:
Fasting = 108 mg/dl (6.0 mmol/L)
30 minutes = 290 mg/dl (16.1 mmol/L)
1 hour = 169 mg/dl (9.4 mmol/L)
2 hour = 74 mg/dl (4.1 mmol/L)
Question:
Do you think this will be a dumping syndrome.
Is this patient could be IVGTT candidate.
what every will do with similar case
Thanks for you all
thanks
Mohmed
