In July STN is holding three additional public training courses
free-of-charge in London. All are geared towards users who have
experience of STN Basics. Attendees will have the opportunity to
exercise the techniques discussed during skills practice sessions.

1. Tuesday 22 July: Patent Full-Text searching, 13.00-16.00
STN has a comprehensive offering of patent full-text files, and unique
search and display features with which to interrogate this cluster.
Discover how to use the full-text databases to answer your patent
challenges. Learn how to search expiration dates, use correct
proximity, differentiate between applied for and granted claims, and
search the business and legal status databases to supplement your
results.
2. Wednesday 23 July: Techniques for Searching Derwent WPI, 10.00-13.00
Derwent WPI has numerous special features which add value to your patent
searches. Learn about PACOs, IPCs, Derwent codes and Analyse and
Tabulate. Use the reporting tools in STN Express to present your results
in reports and tables! This course is suitable for Derwent subscribers
and non-subscribers.
3. Wednesday 23 July: Techniques for Searching Inpadoc, 14.00-15.30
Inpadoc is the most complete source of patent family and legal status
information available electronically. STN's implementation enables easy
cross-filing to other databases to obtain comprehensive patent family
data. Techniques to search this valuable database will be discussed.
