Advanced Substance Searching/Advanced Subject Searching in CAPlus
UMIST Conference Centre, Manchester
Monday, 3 November 2003
STN would like to invite you to attend two free public training seminars
in Manchester. Both are tailored towards experienced chemistry
searchers with knowledge of the Registry and CA files on STN, and will
be presented by CAS patent/chemistry applications specialist Brenda
Poulter.
Monday 3rd November 2003: 10.30-12.30 - Advanced substance searching
techniques in Registry.
This presentation covers techniques for identifying compounds using
Registry tools such as Elemental Analysis, Ring Identifiers, and Ring
Sequence/Element/Formula data, and CA Index Name information.
Monday 3rd November 2003: 1.30-3.00 - Advanced CA searching.
This presentation will focus on the use of CA indexing in the
construction of precise strategies to locate patent and journal
literature of interest.
These sessions were first presented in Cambridge in July 2003 and are
being repeated in Manchester based on requests from STN users in the
region.
