b) Call for Expressions of Interest in Touchpaper's IT Service Management Software
c) Latest Data Wishes

a) New product added to CHEST/Context-JUSTIS portfolio
------------------------------------------------------
CHEST has added a new product to its portfolio of databases available from Context-JUSITS: The Building Law Information Subscriber Service (BLISS) is an online service providing building law information for the construction industry. The cost for a site-licence through CHEST is £500 + VAT per annum.

It is a fully-searchable information resource containing summaries of cases, legislation, standards, contracts and books. It is one of the most comprehensive sources of construction-related legal and technical information from all over the world.

BLISS reports relevant cases concisely, before they are covered in other series, summarising judgments and extracting the main legal points. Cases relating to environmental pollution, health and safety and the environment are also covered and many of the cases are not reported elsewhere. The service also reviews the contents of over 100 international journals.

BLISS is published by construction consultancy James R Knowles, and is now available exclusively on Justis.com, Context's online legal research service.

BLISS may be searched in conjunction with other Justis databases to exploit links to related United Kingdom and European Union case law and legislation. Subscribers can also choose to receive the BLISS weekly update service, containing links to all material added to BLISS over the previous seven days, at no extra charge.

Sites wishing to subscribe may complete the revised Licence (new sites) or Addendum Form (existing subscribers to Context-Justis databases) available at http://www.chest.ac.uk/datasets/context-justis/ and return to CHEST.

Another product, Irish Reports and Digests, is now available with web access (www.justis.com). It was formerly only available as a JUSTIS CD-ROM. The price for a site licence through CHEST is the same for web access as for CD-ROM: £800 + VAT per annum. This may be ordered by completing the licence or addendum forms (as above). This database covers over 80 years of the most authoritative Irish case reports.

The Irish Reports contains the full text of published cases dating back to 1919, longer than any other electronic series of Irish case reports. It is the most comprehensive series of reports, covering decisions of major importance of the superior courts of Ireland. The reports are compiled by practising barristers and are cited authoritatively in Irish courts and tribunals.

The Irish Digests provides a summary, including catchwords and headnote, of each case reported in The Irish Reports, Northern Ireland Reports, Irish Law Reports Monthly, Irish Law Times Reports, Irish Jurist Reports and Irish Law Journal.

b) Call for Expressions of Interest in Touchpaper's IT Service Management Software
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This article may be of interest to anyone who is considering purchasing helpdesk software.

Touchpaper, formerly royalblue, would like to offer CHEST sites special prices to licence software from their Vega Suite.

The Vega product suite includes the following individual modules:

· HelpDesk - For incident and problem management
· ChangeManager - To ensure that changes to your IT infrastructure are evaluated and controlled
· AQuire - For asset and configuration management, software control and distribution, remote management, application self-healing and server management
· AUtoserve - For availability and capacity management of servers and server based applications.
· NMS - Informs your network support staff of any performance issues before they reach full impact, and before users are aware of an issue
· SurveyCenter - Allowing you to gauge feedback on your IT services and gain an accurate picture of user satisfaction
· Real Time Management Suite (RTMS) - Provides you with management information on your IT infrastructure to monitor workloads, resource provision, peak times, underlying issues and trends

More details about the products can be found on the suppliers web pages, http://www.touchpaper.com, including a case study of the London School of Economics (LSE). LSE, who currently use Touchpaper's HelpDesk module for IT support are now considering using HelpDesk to handle library enquiries as well.

Details of the special offer have not been finalised yet. However, the licence will be based on the number of concurrent users and will be in the order of £10,000 per 10 users.

Please record your interest in Touchpaper via a CHEST Agreement by sending a message to mailto:[log in to unmask] with the subject line "touchpaper". Please indicate, if you are able to, when is the best period for such a purchase.

An expression of interest does not commit your site to a licence. However, it is hoped that responses will be based on an identified need at your institution.
