Applications are invited for this part-time, seasonal post at Shambellie
House, Museum of Costume, Dumfriesshire. The employment will continue
until 31 October 2003. Pay range £11,756 to £18,050 pro rata. You will
work a 3-day week of 22½ hours, normally 9.00am to 5.00pm on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday. However, a degree of flexibility is required.
Education Assistant
Shambellie House, Museum of Costume
You will develop and facilitate educational visits to the museum, for
school pupils aged 5 to 14, during term time; devise, implement and
deliver a programme of children’s workshops during school holidays; devise
and run family events; undertake all administration associated with
educational visits; and ensure the safety of school children and workshop
children during visits to the museum.
You will have 3 Highers or equivalent, or at least 3 years relevant work
experience. You will have had some training or practical experience in
working with children and/or the general public. You will be a good team
worker but also have the ability to work alone. You will be a good
communicator, well-organised and comfortable with ICT. Excellent
interpersonal skills are essential.
