Either two part-time or one full time Widening Access Education Officer/s
is required for a position split between the Oxford University Museum of
Natural History and the University of Oxford Botanic Garden ( the current
post holder combines both positions). Continuing the excellent outreach
work of both institutions the post holder/s will be expected to further
develop programmes of work with maintained secondary schools as part of
the Widening Access Initiative at Oxford University. This would include
such activities as Science Fairs, Study Days and a Work Experience
Scheme. The successful candidates will be an excellent communicator and
be capable of delivering lively teaching sessions. Ideally the postholder
will have a relevant degree and a post graduate qualification in education
or museums and experience of working with secondary school students. The
post/s are funded initially for 18 months.
