Slavko Milekic at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia has got something even better that he's designed and it's (better still) inexpensive. His "gesture" interface simply involves wafting a hand over a small box with motion sensors and it can trigger a range of information pieces on a wall or screen. The scale possibilities are great for dealing with visual impairments and the image quality looks impressive. He can be reached at [log in to unmask] if you'd like more details.

Subject: Keypads
Hello all,
I wonder if anyone can help with the following requirement
We are looking for a keypad to provide a user interface for a virtual
reality world, for use by visitors with limited dexterity and, possibly,
visual impairment.
The keypad will need to have the following keys:
One each to move forward, backward and to spin left and right (4 in total
for moving around)
One each to raise the viewpoint up and down (two in total for looking up and
down)
One each to activate animated items and text files (two in total for
interaction within the VR environment)
So, in total we will need 10 keys with appropriate colours and indicators of
their function.
Your help will be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Mike
