Hi Mike
Just on your second point about font size. As you say, each
individual's
needs are different but RNIB has some general guidance on producing
clear
and large print.
I might be wrong but the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) makes it a
statutory duty to provide information in an accessible form, so whatever
text you do produce should also be available in audio and large print as
well.
It is best to use a sans serif font like Arial and really 14 point
should be your default font size.
Italics are hard to read, not only for those with visual impairments but
also those with dyslexia (apparently the letters look as through they
are moving about)
Of course, there are also different considerations if the medium is
printed or electronic such as web pages. The RNIB has good guidelines on
both.
Best wishes,

Subject: [GEM] 2 things
Hi Everyone
1) I need to write a job description and person spec for the people who
come in to teach for us,
one hour at a time. this invariably leads, being Chester, to leading
an
Activity/Handling
Session on the romans! This is so we can go through the job
evaluation
process. Has anyone
got an example they wouldn't mind sharing??
2) Can anyone tell me what font size is recommended for partially
sighted
people (thogh I guess it must depend on how much vision they have)
Thanks everyone
