Dear List,
I agree that discussion should not be censored. However, it is important to
be aware that, for all intents and purposes, it is futile to discuss or
debate these questions with creationists. Belief in "creation science"
requires a faith that is not based on data nor on what we recognise as the
scientific method. The creationist argument that the earth was "created
with an appearance of age" which is reflected in the fossil record, is one
that cannot be refuted by any scientific argument. It is a losing battle. I
think it was appropriate for Joe Meert to inform the list where Ethan's
questions are coming from. The fact that Joe responded to the question is
proof that censorship was not his intent.
