Dear All,
i fully agree that any (!) -including "stupid" or seneseless-
questions are worth of an answer (even a stupid or senseless one). by
answering the creationists questions we have the opportunity and the
duty to discuss and defend our point of view (not seldom "beliefs" as
well). by ignoring other viewpoints we do not increase our knowledge
(only when gravity ends we will know who is right and who was wrong
...).
maybe we should start to discuss creationism on this and other lists.
as far as i understood creationism, they critisise that the fossil
record of earth´s history is invalid, thus an "intelligent creator"
is responsible for all the things staggering around in space. does
anyone know the corresponding arguments against this???? i do not! i
learned in school and university that C. Darwin is the "master" of
evolution and by looking around i think he was right. on the other
hand, G. Mendel, who established the laws of heredity, cheated during
his experiments to reach the "scientific results" he was expecting.
thus we should maybe make clear to ourselfs why creationists are
wrong in our mind.
regards
robert
