Dear All
Sent on behalf of NCFE. Please reply to Jacqui Sugden at NCFE.
NCFE is one of the UK's fastest growing qualification awarding bodies with a long-standing reputation for quality and customer service. We have recently developed and had accredited the Foundation Certificate in Sustainable Development, which we believe i
s the first of its kind in Sustainable Development at this level. The qualification has been written to enable it to be delivered to a wide range of learners and is ideal for raising
people's awareness of sustainable development. This learning can then be demonstrated through candidates' actions at home, in the community and in the workplace, thus making them a more sustainable employee and citizen.
In order to offer this qualification from September we are looking for people working in the sustainable development field who can help write multiple choice questions and moderate candidates' internal assessment portfolios. This work would suit someone
looking to supplement their income. I wondered if you could suggest any suitable contacts/colleagues who may be interested in doing some work for us.
The qualification consists of an internal and external assessment component. The internal assessment component requires candidates to produce a portfolio of work, typically taking the form of a poster, action plan, information folder etc. The external co
mponent consists of 15 multiple choice questions which candidates have 30 minutes in which to complete.
Writing multiple choice questions
We can provide guidance notes on writing questions, the qualification's standards and a draft question form to provide us with questions. The rate of payment is £4 per accepted question onto the Question Databank. Questions undergo an internal and extern
al review process and if they are successful are entered onto the Databank and payment is made.
Moderating candidates' internal assessment portfolios
This role involves visiting centres to moderate candidate's internal
assessment portfolios and attending standardisation meetings. Some relevant work or teaching experience in the sustainable development field is desirable and if possible some experience of assessment and/or moderation. The rates of pay are as £75 per mod
eration visit and £54 for attending a standardisation meeting plus travelling expenses.
Apologies for the length of this e-mail and I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Jacqui Sugden
