actually, hen's eggs aren't too bad for your cholesterool, with a fat
content of 11.5g per 100 g, compared with, for instance, a nice porterhouse
steak (my favourite) at 25 g/100g. Duck, goose and squab eggs are much worse
of course. If you think it's unlikely that anyone would be eating such
things, we know a patient who liked to eat 2 pounds of roasted sunflower
seeds per day. Canned seal isn't too bad (10.8 g/100g)

Well I said to check he'd not developed any silly dietary habit (e.g. a high
egg intake). If he isn't, leave him alone. I believe that you not only
need to reduce someone's cholesterol, but that you have to maintain it at
the lower level for three years before any statistical benefit is obtained.
So I said that an 80 year old can have any cholesterol level he likes, after
all it was Christmas.
It will not surprise readers to know (a) that I got a negative mark and (b)
I'll not be staying in the scheme after they start charging for it!

Following Chris Lovell Smith's comments, I wonder about the efficacy of a
major investigation (and treatment) of an 80 your old with no previous
history of lipidemia. This point of view did not attract the sympathy of
the assessors!
