Does anyone have a view on the significance of a moderately elevated (1.5
ULN, increasing) ALP, intestinal isoenzyme on electrophoresis? LFT done
initially by GP as patient 'generally unwell'. Patient improved following
dietary modification (reduced fat) but ALP increasing slowly. I note the
paper in Annals Nov 1999; 36: 743-748, where the intestinal ALP activity was
much higher, associated with a stomach carcinoma. I wonder whether a
gastroscopy is in order?
Thanks
