We have a paediatrician who has produced a protocol for monitoring
adolescent diabetics annually with C peptide.
He has also asked for insulin measurements as an aid to diagnosing type 2
diabetes in an 11 year old, BMI>99th centile with a great grandmother who
has 'borderline diabetes' but has reached her 99th year!
Does anyone know of any evidence that might support these requests?
Alternatively your collective views would help us formulate local protocols
and would be gratefully received.
Trevor Tickner,
Norwich
