Just to clarify, since I assume you're replying to my recent Israeli
opinion poll posting - Radstats is a public list that is in part a
vehicle for the Radical Statistics Group, which "believes that
statistics can be used to support radical campaigns for progressive
social change" (from the home page,
http://www.radstats.org.uk)
In my post I pointed out the "ominous" (my word) results of a recent
poll of Israeli opinion that supports "transfer" of Palestinians out
of Israel and the Occupied Territories. (The article came from
Ha'aretz.) To me, this has bearing on the above goal, but I can see
that to supporters of the current Israeli military crackdown, it might
not.
My reasons for assuming there was interest on this list for that
particular social issue are mainly based on a discussion last
Fall of the raid of the Palestinian Authority's Central Bureau of
Statistics by the IDF. (List archive can be found at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/radstats.html)
Since I agree with you that this is not the proper place to debate the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict in general, or the (lack of) morality of
random terrorism and systematic state terrorism, I'll keep the rest of
my reply to your message off-list.
With respect,
