Disability Discrimination Act Adviser - contract for services
Fee : £3,000 to include all expenses

The South West Museums Libraries and Archives Council was created in the
summer of 2002. Funded by Resource, the Council for Museums, Archives and
Libraries, it will provide strategic leadership and advocacy for the sector
and help develop its capacity to meet user needs.
We are looking for an individual with expertise on the Disability
Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) to update the Council's knowledge and
understanding of the DDA and the forthcoming new duties applicable from
October 2004. We require desk research, compilation of case studies and
databases relating to museums, archives and libraries and organisation of
cross cultural sector meetings to share ideas and good practice on
addressing the demands of the Act and the needs of people with disabilities.
This contract requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of the DDA and
good contacts with disability related organisations. Experience of working
with museums, libraries and archives would be an advantage. Excellent
teamworking and communication skills are essential.
