medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Greetings all.
I am doing some work regarding the role of Christianity in Angl0-Saxon
England, and as a result of that, I have been examining some Christian
iconography.
Could someone please enlighten me as to the meaning of the inscription
'INRI' that I have seen on most of the Crucifixion pictures and sculptures?
I'm assuming that it's something in Latin.
Thank you so much!!
cheers
Amy Airhart
