medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
"Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum" With apologies for my
spelling. "Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews" was the
inscription ordered by Pilate to be placed on Jesus'
cross. The Jews objected and Pilate replied, "What I
have written, I have written," [Quod scripsi scripsi
in my probably inaccurate Latin.] If you want chapter
and verse (and Gospel) let me know - I can probably
find it fairly quickly.

That it is.
You're welcome.
