How can we move forward?
I haven't been able to follow the discussion on this theme as closely as
I would have liked, but I am interested to know how we may proceed to
establish a shared resource of information and contacts on the theme of
design in developing countries.
Has a special interest group formed to explore the matter? I'm afraid I
can't participate in this effort right now, but I do hope that a small
group can move forward with a plan.
Personally, I prefer the simplicity of a small start. Perhaps just a
folder somewhere that is easily accessible by anyone. Then, if this
proves useful, there may be an effort to organize the materials in some
further way. For now, though, it seems that a place to post and read is
enough. Something with low administration is best for now, I imagine.
I wonder if three or four people would volunteer to think this over,
discuss it in private e-mail conversation, and come up with a plan?
This seems to be the next step. Will three or four champions come
forward to help us move ahead?
I have been surprised and heartened by the extent of interest in this
theme. I think it is a good example of where doctoral interests and the
interests of the design community as a whole merge in a productive
relationship.
