The OR Society has recently made substantial improvements to its website,
and we want to know what you think.
 InfORmer : A new intelligent information system, will help you find
information about people, techniques and applications. It indexes hundreds
of quality OR sites worldwide including INFORMS, IFORS and ORS which has
over 3000 pages, including OR Insight, the Newsletter and in the New Year -
JORS. Please improve the ordering of results by scoring pages you open, and
let us know any additional OR sites or keywords that might improve it
further.
 Post your CV on your own Homepage: Use your hompage to tell members and
recruiters of your areas of interest, expertise and contact details. The
pages will show up in searches carried out through infORmer, or through the
direct hompage search.
 FreeXchange: This is where members post papers and presentations and make
them immediately available to all other members. You may find case studies,
conference papers and other useful documents here.
 A new student section: Everything relevant to OR students, is now
together in one comprehensive section.
 Better forums: User-friendly forums in which you can attach documents and
participate in discussions by email.
 Better dynamic navigation: This is designed to save you time. You can now
preview the main sections of the site, without a single click of the mouse.
Once you spot where you want to go, one click of the mouse will get you
there.
There are more developments in the pipeline, including a series of
specially commissioned articles on new hot application areas, and in the
New Year, International Abstracts in OR and European Journal of Information
Systems will be available online to all members. In the meantime, we want
you to check out the new facilities. There is always room for improvement
and we invite YOU to give us your suggestions.
