Teaching & Learning Technology Officer
The Department of Management Science is looking for a Teaching & Learning
Technology Officer to manage and execute an EPSRC programme to develop web-
based and distance-learning material for postgraduate teaching in
Operational Research (OR) and Reliability. The Department's MSc in OR is a
national leader in the field, and the work in Reliability is nationally
renowned.
The post will be fixed-term for two years. Salary will up to £26,229
The person appointed will be expected to have an interest and ability in
both the technical and pedagogic aspects of the work. (S)he will therefore
need both technical skills in design and development of web-based material
(e.g HTML, Perl etc) and an understanding of how a web-based or CD-based
programme is delivered. Funding for the programme allows for full
involvement by academics, so the ability to relate to academics and
facilitate conversion of their material will also be essential.
The Department is highly research-active with a strong interest in
innovative Management Science teaching, and the person appointed will have
the opportunity to engage in the community of those developing leading-edge
teaching technologies.
