Dear colleague,
You are invited to join 'HIF-net at WHO'. 'HIF-net at WHO' is the leading
international email discussion list on issues of access to information for
health professionals in developing and emerging countries. The list
currently has about 600 participants, including health professionals,
librarians, publishers, NGOs, and international agencies worldwide.
Launched in July 2000 in collaboration with WHO, the list promotes
cross-sectoral communication among providers and users of health
information.
What people say about 'HIF-net at WHO':
1. ''An excellent forum for current debate - it could be especially
useful for organizations in developing countries that have access to email
but limited access to relevant publications." Christine Kalume, Healthlink
Worldwide, UK
2. ''A mine of helpful views and contacts." John Dada, Fantsuam
Foundation, Nigeria
3. "I subscribe to many lists. This is probably the most elegant and
most informative." Najeeb Al-Shorbaji, Director of Information, WHO
Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office
4. "I have found the "HIF-net at WHO" so useful. I am building up
quite a networking system. It is a wonderful way of communicating with
colleagues with similar programmes in Africa." David Tibbutt, Advisor,
Continuing Medical Education Uganda
5. "I've found the HIF-net at WHO discussion group excellent, very
informative." Emma Farrow, VSO Librarian, Kandy Hospital, Sri Lanka
'HIF-net at WHO' is a low-volume, highly focused list. The list is
moderated and text-only, so there is no danger of bulky files or viruses.
