DfES Museums & Galleries Education Programme Conference
Moving forward: Learning through culture
Victoria & Albert Museum, London, 28th November 2001
To celebrate the success of the projects involved in the three-year Museums
and Galleries Education Programme (MGEP), and to highlight the ongoing
efforts to forge links and build partnerships between museums, galleries and
education providers, the DfES is arranging a conference to be held on the
28th November. The event will take place at the Victoria & Albert Museum in
South Kensington, London, and will highlight the achievements of the
programme over the last three years, and look forward to education-focused
work in the museums and galleries sector in the future.
Highlights include:
* Baroness Ashton, Minister for Schools Standards, speaking on
future DfES policy developments relating to Museums and Galleries.
* The launch of the Leicester University Evaluation Report of
the MGEP.
* Examples and exhibits of successful projects, and examples
of other government initiatives aimed at raising the profile of the museums
and galleries sector in education
Formal invitations and a programme will follow shortly. Please let us know
