English Heritage is the nation's leading conservation body. The National Monuments Record (NMR), the public archive of English Heritage, contains over 10 million items * historic and aerial photographs, maps, plans, drawings and digital data * relating to England's architecture and archaeology.
Reporting to the Head of NMR Services, you will develop and implement a strategy to exploit the educational potential of the NMR's holdings with particular emphasis on understanding and enjoyment of the historic environment. You will be responsible for the production of teaching materials, including web-based resources, and the delivery of courses and workshops. The development of close links with other archives, schools and other educational establishments, and teams within English Heritage will be essential.
Educated to degree level and with a minimum of three years' teaching experience, you will be self-motivated, flexible and an excellent communicator, with an understanding of the heritage sector and the educational role of archives.
