English Heritage has an Education Officer Vacancy in its North West Office in Manchester.
Salary c£23,000 pa
Implementing an education strategy, you will promote a better understanding and use of the historic environment through the provision of workshops, courses for teachers and the production of teaching materials and publications.
You will liaise with appropriate bodies and identify and promote opportunities to develop educational activities at our historic sites, buildings or landscapes that have conservation concern or interest.
You will also contribute to the formulation and development of our education policy with colleagues from other regions and monitor its delivery, ensuring we maintain our position as a leader in the field of heritage education.
Qualified to degree level in archaeology, history or a related subject, with experience in the educational use of sites and monuments and the preparation of related materials, you will be self-reliant with the ability to work on a variety of projects concurrently. Outgoing and confident, you should also possess a teaching qualification and at least three years' teaching experience at more than one level. You will need to travel extensively within the region, therefore, a flexible approach to your work is essential.
