Education and Interpretation Officer
(PART TIME - 21.75 hours per week)
(Fixed Term October to December 2001)
Salary: £19,089 per annum pro rata
The award-winning Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester is seeking to
appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Education and Interpretation Officer
(P/T) to join its busy Education Services department from October 2001.
You will be responsible for delivering classroom and gallery-based taught
sessions across a number of National Curriculum areas, but with particular
emphasis on science, technology and history, and will develop schools'
publications which link the Museum's many galleries and collections with the
National Curriculum. In addition you will work within cross-functional
teams to develop exhibitions and provide educational events for a wide range
of audiences, in support of "Life-long Learning".
To succeed in this role you will be a primary phase teacher, with at least
three years' recent experience in a school environment and excellent
knowledge of all aspects of the Science, Technology and History Curricula.
A keen interest in the potential of museums and science centres to enrich
teaching and learning will also be essential.
