ENGLISH HERITAGE EDUCATION
English Heritage is currently re-advertising for the post of Education Officer based in our Northampton office. The postholder will be part of the national team of education staff but will provide the service for our East Midlands Region (that is, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland).
Promoting educational visits and activities, providing publications and organising courses for teachers and tutors all form part of our officers' remits. To become a part of this team you should have a minimum of three years' teaching experience and have graduated in a relevant discipline (such as archaeology or history). You should also demonstrate previous experience in developing the educational potential of the historic environment, as well as the outgoing, self-motivating personality to bring those sites alive to others. The post will require some considerable travel.
I attach a full job description for this post. If you are interested in applying for this post you can obtain an application form from my office ([log in to unmask] or Tel 020 7973 3442 or Fax 020 7973 3443). The closing date for applications is Friday 20 April and the interviews will be held in early May. This is a re-advertisement. Previous applicants need not re-apply.
Mike Corbishley
