As you may be aware, this year's GEM conference is in London, at the British
Museum from September 19-22. Full details will be sent out to members in
the next copy of GEM News. On Thursday September 20 delegates will be
making visits to museums across London, each one taking up a particular
theme. The idea is that the museums in question will act as hosts and
provide a presentation on work they are involved in. We also want
contributions from other GEM members to go alongside these and complement
them. If you would like to be involved in this type of shared presentation
- it would mean doing the presentation twice - morning and afternoon and
would preclude going on other visits that day - please get in touch. The
options are:
Working with young children - based at the Tower of London
Informal learning and children's participation - based at the Livesey Museum
Access and community - based at Redbridge Museum
Literacy - venue to be confirmed
Art and creativity - based at the National Portrait Gallery
ICT and Evaluation - based at the Science Museum
There will, of course, be the usual opportunity to offer a member's
presentation at conference too.
If you want to be involved please reply to me by April 6.
Thanks,
Isabel Hughes
National Conference Organiser
