I think this must have been the group that was involved in the creation of
'Improving Museum Exhibitions for Lifelong Learning' that was published by
GEM and The Stationery Office and edited by Gail Durbin. It is still
available as far as I know.

Subject: Reading groups
Dear All
Having had ME for a number of years, my memory is something of a Swiss
cheese and I am trying to fill one particular hole.
Back in the dim distant 1990s I was part of a postal reading group that read
and assessed academic articles (on learning theory?). I believe it was
organised from within GEM.
Does it still exist? If not, did it fulfil its purpose before it was wound
up?
Can anyone please enlighten me?
