like yourselves we also have developed a classroom museum kit called a
mini museum pack. this we finally presented to schools, other
educational establishments and such organisations as community education
/ social services / Suffolk acre. in 2000.
our success has been through such actions as:
The main presentations were by teachers who had helped develop the pack.
linking the pack to all the museums in Suffolk . All packs go out with
contact details for local museums
many local museums have had a presentation of the pack
Our Education Business Partnership has sponsored the packs to enable us
to give one free to every primary / middle school in Suffolk.
Funding possibly available for educational establishments to visit St.
Edmundsbury Museums
I know that this is a "local" be it county wide programme, whilst you
are national, but some points maybe valuable. The prime rule I have
found is that some research / development is undertaken by working
teachers / facilitators, then the product is seen to be (as well as
hopefully being!) a useful learning platform.
