Dear All (with the usual apologies for cross-posting!),
IMTAL is the International Museum Theatre Alliance, which has been
established to encourage networking, good practice and better evaluation of
live interpretation and museum theatre.
125 people from all over the world came to the global IMTAL conference,
hosted by the IMTAL-Europe team, held in London last month. Their
evaluations show that people were keen to carry on debating many of the
issues raised. If you were not able to attend (or even if you did!), you
may like to consider coming to our conference follow-up meeting in
Manchester on Saturday 1st December: a social weekend gathering out of
London, by popular request. This is restricted to IMTAL and IMTAL-Europe
members only: membership details are available from Andrew Ashmore or Chris
Bailey ([log in to unmask]@bfi.org.uk).
We'll be visiting the sites where's it's all happening in Manchester - Pump
House: People's History Museum, Manchester Museum and Manchester Museum of
Science and Industry - from 10.30 - 4.00 (with a chance to see Andrew
Ashmore squaring his own hypotenuse in role as Pythagoras at Manchester
Museum at 3pm). IMTAL Conference follow-up meeting 4.30 - 6.00, with a
chance to dine somewhere afterwards.
More details available from me. Many thanks and I hope to see some of you
in Manchester.
