I may be wrong, but even for new code I prefer to collect all the object
files in a shared library, and collect all the interfaces in a separate module.
The reason is that I find it easier to deal with a lot of small source
files than one big chunk of code gathered in a module. I like to have
each procedure in a separate file. That way it's much easier to change
something in a subroutine without having to scroll down tons of code.
Yes, you have to update two files, but it's not that difficult if you use a
script.
