This post will develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of
community groups and organisations reflective of the local population as
part of a proactive outreach programme in order to deliver lifelong
learning and social inclusion objectives. The postholder will also
devise and deliver workshops and projects to widen access to Brighton &
Hove collections across libraries & museums and develop, deliver and
maintain the community events programme.
The post holder will have:
ú Excellent communication skills, written & oral
ú Awareness of current issues of museum education provision, lifelong
learning and social inclusion policies
ú Evidence of an understanding of access issues
ú Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to get on with a wide
range of people
ú The ability to work as part of a team, to work alone effectively and
to be self-motivated
ú Excellent organisational, record keeping, time management and
administrative skills
ú Experience of devising and delivering activities/events/projects for a
wide range of people, particularly children & families
ú Experience of working with community groups
ú Experience of working in an arts institution/museum
