Tees Valley Cultural Access & Learning Network
Network Co-ordinator
NEMLAC has secured funding from ncsp/ ONE-NE Skills Development Fund to
establish a new network to identify, support and develop training opportunities
for people working in the cultural sector in the Tees Valley (Stockton,
Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough & Redcar & Cleveland). The Network will
act as a focal point for people involved in arts, libraries, museums, archives,
creative industries and other related professions who have reposibility for
education/ learning, outreach, community work or audience/ reader development.
The Network will concentrate on developing the skills of 25 people in the areas
of lifelong learning, widening participation and social inclusion. The Network
will offer each participant access to training in these issues, as well as
offer opportunities to meet colleagues, hear good practice and go on placements.
Approximately £6,000 is available until March 2002 to support training.
The objective of the Network is to develop capacity within the sector to offer
better learning opportunities to local communities and to offer wider access to
the cultural resources of the North East.
NEMLAC is looking to recruit a Network Co-ordinator to manage the Network,
devise individual and group training packages, and signpost people on to
existing providers. The contract runs from November 2001 and March 2002. Full

Fee: £5,400 (exclu VAT) + £500 travel & subsistence
