perhaps the most efficient way to search for used/o.p. book titles is to visit
http://www.addall.com , hit the "used books" link in the upper
right and you can do a search of multiple book databases (abe,
bibliofind, powells, half.com, etc.) with a single search request and end up
with a list of all the hits, which can then be sorted by, say, price.
an addall.com search puts at one's disposal databases with literally millions
of books listed in them.
half.com , which i occasionally make a few bucks off of myself, is restricted
to books with a viable ISBN (usually meaning that the book is still in print,
or at least in the publisher's list); and, vendors are limited to sell items
at no more than half the in-print price, which is o.k. for consumers but can
be a drag for dealers who might have quite unusual items which would stand a
bit more. so it goes.
