perhaps the most obvious examples are maps produced by the
National Geographic. Several have a map on one side & a satellite
image on the reverse, or political one side, physical other. Most are
small scale, but some are 'topographic' scales - e.g. their map of
Mt Everest in the Swiss style.
I'm not aware of any cases where the same scale is used & the
same content, but different levels of generalisation or different
symbolisation - an interesting concept!
