Cambridge University Library
Temporary Senior Library Assistant - Map Department
Applications are now invited for a Senior Library Assistant to
retrospectively convert cartobibliographic records held in Cambridge
University Library Map Department. The person appointed will work as
part of a national team responsible for the retroconversion of the map
library card catalogue to machine-readable form. Applicants should have
previous experience of machine readable cataloguing using AACR2, MARC,
LCSH and be familiar with the particular issues relating to the
cataloguing of maps. Keyboarding skills and knowledge of one or more
European languages will be valuable assets. Attention to detail and the
ability to work independently, without constant supervision is
required.
The appointment will be until 31 July 2002.
Salary scale: £13,531 - £15,676 pa.
