The structure of the numbering is the same, but I've extrapolated from the sheets we do have that the theoretical 'I-1' sheet of our Uzbek set would be somewhere in the (former) Aral sea. Our sheets are 0°20' lat x 0°30' long too, so unfortunately don't map nicely on to yours. [...]

Hello all,<br><br>I have a stack of photostat copies of imperial Russian maps at 1:84,000 covering various areas of central Asia, but at the moment am drawing a blank on finding a title, index or any explanation of the numbering system(s).<br><br>They mostly date from the 1880s and 1890s. We have at least three seemingly discrete sets covering parts of modern Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, but it's not at all clear how/if each of those sets relates to the rest or how many sheets would make up a complete series.
