Dear Listmembers
I've just joined, although I've known about the list for some time and did
a bit of lurking in the past (before managing to lose the addresss).
I'm an Associate Lecturer with the Open University, based in the Yorkshire
region, and I've always specialised in the late medieval/early modern
period. I'm teaching the European Renaissance in its various cultural
aspects at the moment. Although, technically, Literature's my subject, my
main area of research for the past 5 years or so has been Medieval
wallpainting in the English parish church. I've written one or two papers
on aspects of this and I'm putting the finishing touches to a website -
which I hope will at last be up and running within a couple of weeks.
I'm also a member of the Milton-L list, which is devoted to the poet and to
related 17th century matters, and I've done a bit of transcribing for the
electronic text archive there. One of my students called me a
(approvingly, I'm glad to say) a "technophile" the other day, so I suppose
I must be - despite the screaming frustration brought on by wrestling with
FTP and suchlike.
I've seen some intriguing postings here already, so I'm looking forward to
more.
Happy Shrove Tuesday!
Anne Marshall
