Hi Dugald

My dictionary (Gage Canadian Dictionary), under "inversion", refers to the
verb "invert" defined thus:
1. turn upside down
2. turn the other way; reverse in position, direction, order, etc.
The second definition looks fine to me for faults that Jan is talking about.
