This is catered for in the MIDAS data standard by the units of information
of 'Associated Person Name' and 'Associated Person Role'. Clearly recording
people associated with a crash site / wreck site could very easily become an
unmanageable task. MIDAS recommends a fairly cautious approach, identifying
particular Role types that are relevant to the needs / objectives /
resources of a particular inventory. It could be, for example, that the Role
'Pilot' would be viewed as within the scope of Martins proposed inventory,
but that other crew Roles (Air Gunner, Stewardess etc)would not (I don't
know - this is just an example).
For Maritme recording I am not sure what Roles / People inventories
currently record (perhaps someone could let us know?), but as I said - it is
already catered for by MIDAS.
