Descartes worked and lived in the time of Inquisition, and the consequences for
improper publictions were far worse than loss of tenure. On his tomb was written -
He who hides well, lives well. Many grduate students and post graduate students
feel the same way.
There is no evading Freud in any serious study of culture. My point is merely that
the early Freudian insights are by now so commonplace and deflated of meaning, we
might look to other iterations.
I would also be intrested in understanding your specific interest in dream work,
and how it relates for you to filmaking.
