Dear colleagues,
Some weeks ago a bag of horse bones came in my possesion from a fellow archaeologist who dug an early avar grave somewhere near Alba Iulia, Romania (north west).
As Mr.Rustoiu (the archaeologist) told me, there is no similar study made either on the human or horse skeleton, so I am almost blind in interpreting in a larger context the results of the horse bones.
The bone representation seems to be typical- only leg extremities and teeth- and the only thing that I am able now to do for him is to use the measurements for the recalculation of the height and the slenderness indices.
My request would be adressed to those who know about similar analyses- maybe references/reprints, etc (Hungary, Bulgary?) and any suggestions and advices would be more than usefull!
Thanks in advance,
Alex
